Ms. Beth Hill @ ECMS

About Me

My name is Beth Day Hill, and I have been teaching in Estill County since 1993.

I have a BA in English (secondary teaching) with a minor in philosophy from Eastern Kentucky University.  I also have a MA in American & British Literature, also from EKU.  In 2004 I become a fellow in the National Writing Project.

I began my teaching career as a substitute teacher for the Estill County Board of Education where I worked mainly with high school students and completed two long-term jobs for English teachers.  The following year, I taught at Estill County High School teaching all levels of English before moving to the middle school to teach 8th grade reading and homebound for all grades the next year. I then moved into a full-time language arts position at Estill County Middle School where I've been ever since.

I currently teach 8th grade language arts..  During my time at the middle school I have served as academic team coach, writing cluster leader, language arts & reading component leader, site-based council member, committee leader, and team leader.
